Jacqueline Stoner Obituary

Jacqueline Carol (Brown) Stoner

Age 79, Jackie was born in Coaldale, PA on November 26, 1944 and passed peacefully at home on February 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Donald Stoner; 3 sons Donald Jr. (Wendy), David (Jennifer), and Daniel (Erin); 5 siblings James (Nancy), Robert, Richard, Patricia Fulcher (Richard), & David; 4 grandsons Zachary, Nathan, Tyler & Logan; and 2 granddaughters Jenna & Augustine. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maj. Harry (Jim) Brown Jr. and Sophie Porambo Brown.

She met her husband as a high school sophomore when her military family moved to Penn Hills. It was her 13th school, including 4 in Germany. Following graduation from Braddock Hospital School of Nursing, Jackie worked as an R.N. until her husband finished dental school. A resident of Oakmont for 52 years, Jackie was on the board of many organizations, including RCAC, Garden Club of Oakmont, the Kerr Museum, Junior Women’s Club, and Oakmont Country Club Women’s Golf. She was actively involved in her sons’ many activities. After the children were independent, she was certified in Gerontology and made Director of Resident Care at Longwood of Oakmont. She once said three of the most important things in life were love, joy, and family. She was blessed with all three. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
