Sable; grandmother of Justin B. Sable, Jasmine R. Bromley, Jordan A. Sable and Jared M. Sable; great-grandmother of Isaac and Oliver Bromley. Sarah was a 1948 graduate of Penn Hills High School where she was a Majorette in the marching band. She went on to attend Waynesburg College where she received an Associate Degree in Business and then worked for Gulf Oil Corporation for a brief period of time at their office in downtown Pittsburgh. Sarah was a homemaker and mother who, with the help of her loving husband, raised their three sons. Some of her favorite hobbies included making ceramics and homemade chocolate candies, as well as crocheting, knitting, and cross-stitch. In her later years, Sarah developed a keen interest in genealogy and performed extensive research on the Versaw, Sable, Medley and Bleakney family histories. Along the way she found out numerous interesting stories and historical family information dating all the way back to the 1600 and 1700s. She even went on to publish her findings on the Family Treemaker database and wrote many short stories and papers that have been distributed to several surviving family members. Sarah loved flowers and planted all different types and colors of wildflowers all over their large backyard at their home. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren and loved to entertain them with wonderful stories and games. She even taught them to dive and swim during their swim parties accompanied by full barbecue meals. She will be remembered by all for her kindness and her loving devotion to her family.
