Edward Costello

Edward Costello, on Friday, February 12, 2016, age 89 of Oakmont, formerly of Penn Hills. Loving husband of Barbara Costello. Devoted father of Mary (Michael) Hill, Deirdre (Carl) Hasselman, Pat (Lenore) Costello and John (Patti) Costello. Loving grandfather of Kayla, Colum, Bridget, Ailis, Maeve, Ashleen, Aidan, Ciara, Paul, Mairead, Maura, Patrick, Eamonn and Aine. Preceded in death by siblings Martin, Mary, Delia, and Pat. He was born in Galway Ireland on August 14, 1926. Edward came to the United States in 1947. He fought in the Korean War. After his service he went to work at Paper Products Co. He planned on working there for a year to see if he liked it, if not he planned on returning to the Army. He ended up working there for fifty-five years. Due to the kindness of his bosses, who he considered his friends, they permitted him to work even after signs of dementia started to take effect. Dad always said that he was happiest when he had his children and grandchildren around him. He will be sadly missed. Friends will be received Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8PM in the English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 378 Maryland Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Friday, February 19, 2016 in St. Irenaeus Catholic Parish. Everyone Please Meet at the Church. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Cheswick.
