Patricia Thompson Obituary

Patricia Dible Thompson. Age 90, of Longwood at Oakmont, born in Penn Hills, previous resident of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2018.  Beloved wife of Dr. W. Richard Thompson VMD for 61 years, loving mother of Lynn (Tom) Asp, Trent (Jean) Thompson, grandmother of James Asp, Andrew Asp, Alexis Thompson and Paul Thompson.  She was preceded in death by her parents William T. Dible and S.Lois Dible, sister Mary Lois Dible and brother William T. Dible.  Pat was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College and received her masters degree from University of Pittsburgh.  She served as Assistant Professor in the Training School at Edinboro State Teachers College.  Pat assisted her husband in establishing a successful veterinary practice in Scott Township, PA. She worked tirelessly in many volunteers roles which included work for the gift shop at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Neurofibromatosis Golf Challenge. She was past president of the Women’s Golf Association at Oakmont Country Club.  She enjoyed golf, bridge, tennis, bowling and time with friends.  Pat was eager to help others, known for her kindness and loved by many. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Longwood of Oakmont for their exceptional care of Pat.  Services will be private.  Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in her memory.
