Anna E. "Betty" Blackmore
Age 99, of Tarentum, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Charles Franklin Blackmore; loving mother of Paula Birnie, of Oklahoma, Charles “Skip” (Linda) Blackmore, of East Deer Twp., and the late Richard Dennis Blackmore; grandmother of Janet (Brett Puckett) Birnie, Gayle (Michael) Cochran, Doug (Laura) Birnie, and Michael Blackmore; great-grandmother of 3; aunt of 3 special nieces Elizabeth “Liz” (James Coughlin) Hutton, Linda Hutton, and Nancy Hutton, and 3 special nephews David Hutton, Gary Hutton, and Billy Hutton. In addition to her husband and son, she was also preceded in death by her parents Elmer William Geltz and Elizabeth Hester Jacobs, and her sister Katherine Mae (Geltz) Hutton. Betty retired from Sears Dept. Store after 25 years of service. She was the past president of the Harding PTA, an Elder in her church, and a Girl Scout Leader. Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., in Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, 106 Brown Rd, Freeport, PA 16229. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. A luncheon will follow the service to celebrate Betty’s life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Betty’s name to Mooseheart Child City & School Inc. through their website at mooseheart.org.
