Antigone P. Mellas

Age 94, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Monday, April 26, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Paul Mellas; loving  mother of Anastasia (Dr. Steve) Kukunas and Spyros (Kathryn) Mellas; grandmother of James Kukunas, Dr. Paul (fiancé Dr. Ashley Klobuka) Kukunas, Annette Kukunas, and Paul Mellas. Antigone was born in Lefkada, Greece to the late Dimitri and Maria Politis. She was a talented seamstress and a deeply spiritual woman who was devoted to her faith. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., in the Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthdox Church, 12 Washington Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139, where a visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in the Homewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Antigone to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 412 S. Dithridge St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213, or to the Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church.
