Dorothy "Dottie" Mae Hamilton
Dorothy Mae Hamilton of Vincentian Schenley Gardens in Pittsburgh, age 84, entered into eternal life on April 15th, 2022. Dottie was born on March 12, 1938 in Pittsburgh to her parents, Francis Alexander Hamilton and Anna Hamilton (nee Steve), who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Peabody High School in East Liberty and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart parish. Dottie worked for over 50 years as a title clerk in the automotive industry; she spent most of her career at Don Allen Chevrolet in Shadyside. She was known for her quick wit, affable nature and her deep love and affection for her sister and her two nephews. Dottie was a jet setter in her younger years and enjoyed trips to the casinos and vacations with her sister and nephews. In her later years, she absolutely loved doing crossword puzzles... and never ceased to share her distain for gravy! She is survived by her beloved sister, Elizabeth DeCarolis and her devoted nephew, Matthew Matejko and his wife, Rev. Karol Van Wulfen. She leaves behind many dear friends in the Pittsburgh area and beyond, especially Nancy, Shirley, Bobby and others, who helped to provide care and support in more recent years. Her nephew, Stephen F. Matejko, preceded her in death as did her beloved dog, Bumper Morgan. May she rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing. A memorial service will be held a later date. Arrangements entrusted to English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.
