Glenn W. Fuegen
Age 87, of Oakmont, entered into eternal life on Friday, September 25, 2020. Glenn was born and raised in southeast Iowa and served four years in the U.S. Navy as an aerographer during the Korean War. He later graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Agronomy, and then worked briefly in hybrid seed corn research until he entered the seminary. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1967. Glenn served in parishes in southeast Iowa until he resigned in 1980. After his resignation, he moved to Pittsburgh and earned an A.S. degree with high honors in accounting from CCAC. He married in 1983 and worked for the City of Pittsburgh and PWSA until his retirement in 1998. Glenn was an active member of St. Irenaeus Church in Oakmont. He enjoyed playing the keyboard, gardening, woodworking, and spent much of his time in scripture study. Beloved husband of the late Patricia “Pat” Schultz Fuegen; brother of Verne Fuegen of Muscatine IA, James Fuegen of Huxley IA, Janet Hagy of Muscatine IA, Lois Fitzwater of Huxley IA, and the late Arlene Williams of Bluffs IL; uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. His dear friends would like to thank the medical staff of UPMC East ICU for their compassionate care. Friends will be received Friday, October 2, 2020, from 3-7 p.m., at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 10 a.m., in St. Irenaeus Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Everyone please meet at church.
