James Caruso

James “Jim” Caruso passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, age 80 of Cheswick, PA after a 9 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. 

James was born on August 5, 1945, raised in Verona, PA as the fourth child of the family.  James was graduate of Penn Hills High School in 1963.  He also served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969.

He is survived by his devoted wife of over 43 years, Carloyn L. Caruso, sons James N. Caruso of Hampton, PA and Nicholas S. Caruso of Las Vegas, NV.  He is also survived by brother Albert (Viki) Caruso, the late Joseph (Deborah surviving) Caruso and Annie (the late Donald) Stewart; also survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his Mother Philomena Caruso and Uncle Angelo “Charlie” Marchionna.

Known affectionately as “The Wizard”, James was an avid golfer and skilled pool player who brought passion and precision to every game.  He was multiple time West Penn Pool Player of the Year, a contributing member of championship billiard teams from The Harmar House.  He also was a long-time member of Riverforest Country Club and Chapel Gates Swim Club.

For 32 years, he was a proud co-owner of Bob’s Garage, where his work ethic and humble personality earned him the respect of friends, customers, and colleagues alike. James will be remembered not only for his talents and achievements, but for the genuine kindness and humility he carried throughout his life.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 4-8 PM at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. Irenaeus Church, 387 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. Everyone please meet at the church.
