James R. Corey, of Oakmont, passed on Friday, August 30, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Corey, as well as his siblings Frank B. Corey and Irene Khuze. He is survived by three of seven stepchildren; as well as many step-grand and step-great grandchildren. James served in the Army during the Korean War as a teletype operator. He graduated from Duquesne University and was part of the Gamma Phi Fraternity. James worked for many places such as Nabisco, the Allegheny County Health Department, and as a radio announcer in West Virginia. A special thank you to his step-granddaughter, Melissa Lloyd, for being his caregiver for nearly a decade. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 10 AM at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 12707 Frankstown Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15235. Arrangements entrusted to English Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.
