James B. Gillespie

James B. Gillespie of Plum Borough, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Born and raised on the North Side of Pittsburgh on September 17, 1935. Beloved husband of 58 years to Judith (Judy) Wedmore of Oakmont, PA; loving father of Mark (Selena) and Steven (Amy) Gillespie; proud grandfather of Megan, Lauren, Austin, Paige and Sophia. Preceded in death by his siblings Robert Gillespie, Mary Jane Richards, Margaret Miller, Catherine Gillespie, and Thomas Gillespie. Jim graduated from North Catholic High School in 1953 and was drafted into the U.S. Army (1st Calvary Division) where he served in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Koppers Company after 29 years of service. As per Jim’s request, there will be no viewing. A private family service and interment will be held at Verona Cemetery in Oakmont, PA with full military honors.
