Age 93, of Verona, passed away peacefully, with her children by her side, on Sunday, August 8, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Albert L. Simmers, Sr.; loving mother of Helen Mae Simmers of North Carolina and Albert “Leroy” Simmers, Jr. of Verona; grandmother of Jason (Fiance Melissa Smith) Simmers; great-grandmother of Ian, Chelsea, Harper, Alicia, Joelle, and Angelo; daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Ashbaugh; sister of the late Helen Lois Heinauer. Jennie was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Verona, where she and her husband served as custodians for over 60 years. She will be forever remembered by her family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her as someone who loved animals and people. Jennie was a genuinely kind-hearted person who would help anyone in need. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 6-8 p.m., at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., in Trinity Lutheran Church, 701 Allegheny River Blvd., Verona, PA 15147. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
