Age 75, of Oakmont, formerly of Fairfax, VA, passed away peacefully, on Monday, February 17, 2020.  Son of the late William and Margret Katon; father of William (Nicole) Katon, Kimberly Proffer, Maggie Katon, and the late Robert (Krissy surviving) Katon; grandfather of 5; brother of Jay (Lee) Katon, Dotty (Helmet) Hoeflinger, and the late Joan (Ben) Clarke.  John is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. John enjoyed reading books, riding Harley Davidsons, watching movies, and playing the harmonica. In his younger days, John was an avid disco dancer and disco instructor. He is known to be “super” patriotic, and was a member of the Moose, Elks, and American Legion. Arrangements are private and entrusted to English Funeral Home, 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.
