John C. “Bud”
Age 92, of Plum Boro, formerly of Wilkinsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Straw; loving father of Jeffrey (Karen), William, and Donald (Dawn) Straw; grandfather of Benjamin (Amanda) Straw and Michele (Jason) White; great-grandfather of Jason Straw, Emelia Straw, and Joseph White; brother of the late Anna Marie Good. John was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in WWII. He was employed as a senior electrical draftsman at Westinghouse Electric for 34 years prior to starting his own firm, JCS Drafting. John was a long-time Boy Scout leader and Eagle Scout, and served as a commander for the Civil Air Patrol, Squadron 602. He was also an amateur radio operator for many years with the call sign KA3COJ. Friends will be received on Thursday, June 18, 2020, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA, 15139, where a Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Folds of Honor through their website foldsofhonor.org or to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at tunnel2towers.org.
