Age 84, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2019. Beloved husband of Anna Rubenstein Rafail. Loving father of Joseph Anthony (Tracy) Rafail, Rosalyn Irene Rafail, and Jason Andrew (Heather) Rafail. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph’s career and passion was as an educator. Graduate of St. Vincent College in Latrobe and West Virginia Wesleyan College, Weston, WV where he obtained a Master’s in Education. During his years as an educator, he taught English, Latin, World Religion, Philosophy and Mortuary Science. He was a licensed Funeral Director in Pennsylvania and West Virginia and a member of the National Funeral Directors Association. He managed Commercial and Residential Real Estate and was a member of Institute of Real Estate Management, and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Per Joseph’s request, a private family service was held at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s memory to the Seraphic Mass Association, 5217 Butler Street, Suite 100, Pittsburgh PA 15201.
