Katherine S. Pistella “Kay”

Age 99, of Verona, formerly of Penn Hills, on Friday, August 6, 2021. Beloved wife of 72 years to the late Frank S. Pistella; loving mother of Frank “Butch” (Nancy) Pistella and Toni (Bernie) Elk; grandmother of Frank M. (Lisa) Pistella, Jr., Michael (Leah) Pistella, Gina (Jeff) Baldwin, BJ (Kristen) Elk, and Emily (Ben) Moore; also survived by 16 great-grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Catherine Shook, and her siblings Elvera Gammon, George Shook and Amelia Kelley. Her greatest loves in life were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Sunday dinners, and babysitting as many children as she could at one time. In her spare time she was one of the top salespersons for Vita Guard Distributing. Kay leaves a legacy of kindness, empathy, and generosity, and will remain in the hearts of her family forever. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 4-7 p.m.,  at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Irenaeus Church (Holy Family Parish), 387 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to pittsburghfoodbank.org,  humaneanimalrescue.org, or donations.diabetes.org. The family politely requests that all visitors wear masks.
