Kier Gray Ewing Jr., 64, of Penn Hills and Butler, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
The eldest son of Kier G. Ewing Sr. and Evelyn “Evie” Ewing, Kier is survived by his beloved fiancé and long-time partner, LeaAnn Grill, his future stepson, Sean M. Williams, and his grandchildren, Max O. Williams and Molly G. Williams, as well as Kier’s brothers and their family, Kevin C. Ewing and his wife, Lisa J. Ewing, and Kirklan P. Ewing, including his nephews and nieces, Ryan D. Ewing, and his fiancé, Natalie A. Amorose, Justin A. Valimont and his wife, Veronica Valimont, and their daughter, Vanessa M. Valimont, Samantha J. Plance and her husband, Adam Plance, and their daughter, Aubree J. Plance, and dear family friend and colleague, Karla Gill, and her family.
Kier was a gentleman first with an unmatched sense of humor. He brought smiles to all those he loved every day, cherishing every opportunity he could spend with them. An avid outdoorsman, Kier enjoyed hiking, shooting, hunting, and fishing with those that he loved most. Kier also loved to tell a good story, laughing the whole time he told it.
The oldest brother of three, Kier was a steadfast mentor and friend to his younger siblings, who loved him deeply. A proud and beloved grandparent who also answered to ‘Pap’, Kier fiercely loved his grandchildren and played a daily role in their lives and development. Kier cherished his fiancé and partner, LeaAnn, as they dedicated their lives to each other and to their family.
For over forty-two years, Kier was Vice President for the local insurance company bearing his, his father’s, and his grandfather’s name, Kier G. Ewing & Associates, Inc. A graduate of West Virginia University in Accounting and Finance, Kier served as the Verona Chamber of Commerce Secretary and Board Member for forty years and was the prior Director for the Riverview Community Action Corporation.
Kier loved and was loved. While we are heartbroken, we take comfort in knowing that Kier meant as much to us as we did to him. We love you.
