“Gus” Doas

Age 74, of Oakmont, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 23, 2020. Beloved husband of Katina Doas; loving father of Christopher (Katherine) Doas, Maria (Robert) Chism, and George Doas; grandfather of Alexis Theodora Doas, Eleni Maria Doas, Josephine Katherine Chism, and Mary Theodora Chism; brother of Eviania Ntoas of Greece. Gus was born in Pyrgos, Elis Greece to Christo and Theodora Ntoas. He served as a Paratrooper in the Greek Army. He was proud of these times and loved to show his infamous enlisting photo to anyone who would look. After his service he set his sights on America for a new life. Gus found pride in being a host and pleasing customers in several popular restaurants around the Pittsburgh area; he thought of himself as a charismatic restaurateur. Gus enjoyed spending time with his four granddaughters, football, the racetrack and a good joke! He had a passion for his fig trees and tomatoes plants and was always happy to share his produce. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, from 10-11am, in the Dormiton of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, Oakmont, where a Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am. Interment will immediately follow in Homewood Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.
