Margaret L. Knopp
Our beloved Margaret (“Peggy”) Louise Knopp was born on May 22, 1951, and passed away on April 12, 2025.
Peggy resided most of her life in Verona, PA, and rarely ventured far away from Verona. It was her home. Peggy lived a simple life grounded in her Catholic faith with a strong love of her family and friends.
First and foremost, Peggy loved God and had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother. Peggy was a Parishioner of St. Susanna Church – Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish in Penn Hills, PA, and loved attending weekly mass. Peggy embraced and celebrated Catholic feast days such as St. Patrick’s Day, St. Joseph’s Day, and especially Holy Week, and shared her excitement with others, usually via a text message. But most importantly, Peggy lived Christ’s message by being someone who cared about all people and treating everyone as human beings and with dignity and respect.
Peggy also loved her family and friends and always made time for others, especially when they were in need. Peggy was often the first person to send a text on someone’s birthday, call shortly after someone received bad news to console them, or simply say “hello” at just the right moment. Her presence alone was enough to bring smiles and happiness. Peggy’s family and friends threw a surprise birthday party for her 70th birthday. They still talk about the excitement on Peggy’s face when she entered the room and the laughter that followed shortly thereafter.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Louis Knopp, and her mother, Dolores Knopp. Peggy is survived by her lifelong and dearest friend, Viki Jones; her sisters, Jeanne Knopp and Ellen Miller (Paul); her brothers, Lewis Knopp and Kevin Knopp (Anthony); and her cats. She is preceded in death by her sister, Helen Knopp. She is also survived by multiple nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a blessing service on Friday, April 25th 11AM in the Chapel at Deer Creek Cemetery, 902 Russellton RD, Cheswick, PA 15024.
Professional arrangements are entrusted to English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA, 15139.
