A few years after high school, married her late husband Ed Hollinger of Verona, who very sadly passed away at a very young age. In her early years, Marilyn worked as a self employed seamstress, sewing and designing assorted dresses and articles of clothing. In her last 25 working years, she was a Medical Secretary for UPMC. She was very proud of her work and met wonderful friends along the way. She was an accomplished artist, with a love of painting and sketching animals and ocean scenes. Marilyn loved music, saw Elvis three times and enjoyed concerts! She also loved to cook and bake her Award Winning, self designed apple pie. Marilyn spent many vacations at her favorite spot, Virginia Beach. She enjoyed going to flea markets and traveling to new and interesting locations. She worked as an usher for the Pittsburgh Cultural District at Heinz Hall, the Benedum and Byham Theaters. She had a great love and affection for any and all animals. Marilyn always put family first and enjoyed any opportunity to be with those she loved. She was adored by her surviving husband Frank Hartwig. She was a dedicated and loving mother of Eddie Hollinger, Jennifer Hollinger (Kelley) and Amanda Geletko. Her parents were the late Beulah (Davis) and Alfred Greenaway of Murrysville. She was the sister of late Al Greenaway and survived by her brother Dale Greenaway of San Diego. She has five grandchildren, Sean, Devin, Morgan and Seamus Kelley and Tessa Hollinger and two great grandchildren, Brinley and Bristol Kelley. To know Marilyn, was to experience the kindest, most sweet, soft spoken lady who always put others before her and never expected anything in return. She will be sadly missed by anyone that knew her.
