Nancy R. Hutton of Butler, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on August 5, 2022. She was born January 21, 1953, to the late Katherine Eckhardt (Geltz) and David Hutton, Sr. She is survived by siblings Linda, David, Liz (Jim Coughlin), Gary, and Bill. Also survived by 2 nephews, 5 nieces, 1 grandnephew, and 3 grandnieces. Nancy was a member of the class of 1970 of Wilkinsburg High School in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. In her youth, Nancy’s favorite sport was roller skating. She enjoyed skating competitions and Friday “skate nights”. Nancy proudly served in the United States Navy for over 20 years. She retired as a Chief Petty Officer. After her retirement, Nancy obtained an associate degree from Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. After graduation, Nancy served the community as a teacher in early childhood education. Nancy is fondly remembered for her great love of cats, kittens, and manatees. Nancy often found time to spoil her nieces and nephews with shopping sprees, special outings, and fun adventures. She considered herself a lifelong “parrot head” and enjoyed Jimmy Buffet songs and concerts. Nancy kept the joy of the Christmas alive throughout the year through her ongoing collection of Christmas ornaments and her celebration of all things Christmas. She loved family beach vacations and hosting friends and family in Virginia Beach, Key West, London, and many other places where she lived. Per Nancy’s request, there will be no service at this time. Nancy’s life will be celebrated by her family during a scattering ceremony at sea later this year in North Carolina. Arrangements entrusted to English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139.
