Robert "Bob" C. Repp

Robert "Bob" Repp,

Age 93, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the Longwood at Oakmont Senior Community, just a few miles from the Repp family farm where he was born and raised. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Mary Repp; loving father of Denis Repp, of Plum, Emily (Dave) Monk, of New York, and Carrie Repp, of Florida; grandfather of Brian, Kyle, and Amanda Monk; son of the late Clifford and Lois Repp; brother of the late Jean Farneth, Frances Daugherty, and John Repp. He was a “born engineer” from childhood into old age, always taking things apart and building or repairing toys, farm equipment, cameras, etc.  Following his military service (Japan) in the 187th Airborne, he attended Penn State (Electrical Engineering, ’52) and Carnegie Tech. After college he took a position with Bell Telephone, where he spent his entire professional career in the Engineering and Marketing Divisions.  He was a member of the IEEE and the Bell Telephone Pioneers. Bob spent many happy years at Nesbit’s Lanes, where he bowled a good game right up to his final months.  In retirement he started working there “just to keep busy” as a jack of all trades for Rich Nesbit, who remained a close friend to the end. He also enjoyed golfing, walking and puzzles of all sorts.  In retirement, Bob and Mary travelled to Canada, Central America, Alaska, Hawaii and enjoyed bicycle trips through northeast England and in Austria, along the Danube to Vienna. Bob was a member of Kerr Presbyterian Church, Milltown, and then Oakmont Presbyterian Church.  He served in many capacities, and was very generous with his time helping relatives and church members with driving, repair jobs, and anything else he could do to, in his words, “make himself useful.” Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139, where a service will conclude visitation at 1:00 p.m
