Sharon Berggren, formerly of Ellwood City, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 12, 2023 after a lengthy battle from injuries sustained in a car accident in 2018. Sharon was the wife of Rev. C. Richard Berggren, who served as the Pastor of Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church in town for 14 years.  She devoted her life to serving the Lord and raising her family.  She sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School and Youth Group, as well as leading many lady groups in the church. She was involved in all of her children’s activities and never missed her son Paul’s baseball games as he was growing up.  She enjoyed many years delivering the Ellwood City Ledger in the Ewing Park part of town.  Later in life she became a very active member of Curves Fitness in Curwensville, PA.  Wherever she was, or in whatever she did, she was kind, loving and humble.  She lived her life as an example of her Lord. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Carl, of 67 years.  In addition to her 3 children, Paul (Kristin) Berggren of Lower Burrell, PA; Lois (Kevin) Bohn of Perryton, TX and Tim (Bonnie) Berggren of Washington, PA.  She was the proud grandmother of Jarrod Bohn and Lee (Kaci) Bohn in TX; Ashley (Nathan) McCrea in VA; Victoria (Andrew) Stewart in Waynesburg, PA and Jack and Hanna Henderson in Lower Burrell, PA.  She also has 4 amazing great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Florence Burton of Moline, IL; her brother and sister-in-law, James and Eileen Burton of Rock Island, IL and her nephew Scott Burton, also from Rock Island, IL. There will be no funeral services or viewings at the request of the family. Arrangements entrusted to English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.  Anyone wishing to honor her memory would be asked to make donations to Presbyterian Senior Care at 1215 Hulton Rd., Oakmont, PA 15139.
