Susan J. Riley

 Age 91, of Verona, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Beloved wife of 67 years to Bernard Riley; loving mother of Steve (Karen) Riley of Slippery Rock, PA, David (Donna) Riley of Sarver, PA, the late Kathleen Zebrak and the late Christine Riley; proud grandmother of Paige (Colin) Streets of North Palm Beach, FL, Colin (Shelby) Riley of Denver, CO, Brennon Riley and Sean Riley of Sarver, PA, and Dalton and Kalyn Zebrak; great-grandmother of Savanah, Margot and Wade Riley; sister of Margery (Dixon) Adams of North Carolina and the late James Funk.

Susan pursued her passion for nursing by attending Allegheny College and later earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh Nursing School. She dedicated her professional life to the care of children, working as a pediatric nurse at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. Her commitment to the next generation of nurses was evident in her role as an instructor of pediatric nursing at West Penn.

Beyond her professional life, Susan was an active member of the Pittsburgh Garden Club, several bridge groups, and the Red Hat Society. Susan especially cherished spending her winters on Sanibel Island, Florida, where she and her family created countless happy memories together. She had a passion for gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and traveling with her husband Bernie.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 10 – 11 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 AM, at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. Interment to follow at St. Mary of the Assumption Church Cemetery in Glenshaw, PA.
