Virginia “Ginny” H. Spangler
Age 93, of Longwood of Oakmont, formerly of Shadyside on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Wife of the late Dr. Eugene Hirsch; previously wife of the late Donald Spangler, mother of Kitty Spangler, Jay (Beverly) Spangler, Christopher (Leslie) Spangler; stepmother of Gary, Julie, Paul; grandmother of Valery, Jayson (Fiana), Mason, Sam, Adam; great-grandmother of Kilian, Evelynn, Livinia; sister of the late James Higinbotham III (MaryJo); aunt of Leigh, Bruce, Heather, Chrissy, and the late Mike. Ginny grew up in Oakmont and graduated from Grove City College with a degree in Business Administration. She loved her job as a Docent in Clayton House at The Frick Art and Historical Center and volunteered at Carnegie Museum of Art. Ginny was a long time member of Calvary Episcopal Church and liked to help during their big, yearly book sale. She was also very fond of world travel going on adventures to many other countries and continents to experience different cultures. Arrangements are entrusted to English Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.
